Hi Casey,
Great to see you have been moving forward and getting your website up (www.propertywishlist.com.au)

There are a number of issues which I see are hindering the website. Some are user related, some are just issues with wording. Some are glaring issues which should be fixed immediately before you do any promotion.

What frustrates me the most is you haven't really considered the user experience. You have decided to go up against realestate.com.au, and if you are going to do this you need to offer something better. As it stands at the moment it is not "better", though the site does look better. The clutter of realestate.com.au is just over the top (IMHO).

I have spent a few hours looking at your site. I do this because I want people to succeed, and my prognosis is it will fail unless you make some changes.

All the marketing in the world will not shift users over (basically people are very lazy and if something is working for them they see little reason to "jump ship"), unless they see the benefits are there for them to do so.

I will create a blog post covering the issues I see. Hope it helps.

Great article, very informative. Let me know if you have any tips when you visit our new website. We would love to get more ideas on ways of getting more visitors to our site. Lastly, if you like our concept, please let your friends and family know about our site. If they are buying or selling property this site will be of use to them. It has only been online for 3 days now so there are not too many wishlists currently registered, we are trying to figure out the best way to get property buyers to the site, any suggestions? Getting agents there is easier because you can call them directly, but buyers are a different kettle of fish. Thanks for your time.

Thankyou for your reply to my question earlier. After slaving away with my web designer for the last 4 months we have finally got our web site online. It would be great if you could visit our site and tell us what you think and maybe write a piece on it. I wont go into too much detail now about the site as you will form your own opinion. In short though, it is basically an online database of buyers wishlists. Please note that more functions and added features are going to be incorporated into the site over the coming months. The site is totally free for all members and will be a useful tool foe agents, private vendors and buyers. Please visit the site and also, below is a link to an article another blogger did on the website recently. Thanks for your time. http://www.australianhousehunters.com.au/blog/2008/06/06/propertywishlistcomau/

Hi Casey,
Thanks for reading my blog :-)

OK... Getting a site noticed. I assume you mean getting traffic to your site (which is what all websites owners want). I will post a new blog article addressing this question (which is a question a lot of people have about an online business. Hope it answers your question.
If I can be of more help just let me know.
