Why To Jolly With The Holly is Just Folly For Your Home Business

Do you use the holiday time to give yourself an excuse to slacken off a little in your internet network marketing business? That’s a fair question and the reason you should think about is, when the holidays are over, will you be basically starting from scratch again picking up your promotions where you left off.

What we’re getting at here is instead of easing off in the period leading up to a major holiday this should be the time to step it up a notch. It’s like a racing car driver driving a bend, they do it aggressively. This is no different. And this is why you should be doing it.

What you sow now will pay you big time when things return to normal. When everybody else is recommencing promotions and then spending the “lag time waiting for it to bear fruit, you’ve already done the hard work and will hit the resumption period running. Can you see how powerful this can be? You haven’t missed a beat and it’s usually a time when people start looking for opportunities.

Internet Network Marketing System

A little effort now will usually pay off big time in a month or two and all it requires is some application from you. Here’s an example…a month before any major break I make sure I have articles written for directory submission. Article marketing is a big part of my promotional efforts. In many instances, you can use a submission service and drip the release of the articles over time.

Where the benefit for yours truly is these articles will have already been published by the time we enter the new year and gaining search engine traction. The key here is with that little extra effort I am still able to enjoy a few days break with my family over the festive period but content in the knowledge I have promotions out there working for me while I’m off.

The advantage I have over someone who uses it as an excuse to take an extended break just because everyone else does is I will hit 2009 running in fact, I have gained a significant edge over my competitors. Can you see how powerful this can be?

It’s one of the major reasons why some people succeed in internet network marketing while the majority struggle and once again, use cause and effect to your advantage and your ultimate success really does start and end with you. Sit down and write a list of the major times during the year where people are likely to have a break and then make plans to do that little bit extra and reap the rewards.

Out Wit, Out Smart, Out Play – Be a Survivor!

Every business owner knows that the key to success is how well you market your business. Your business is not any different. Your success depends on your marketing strategies.

There are many different marketing techniques, all with their own price tag attached to them, and no matter what your business you will need to develop a marketing plan that generates sufficient customers to reach your goals. No customers = no sales = no growth = failed business. Even if you are not growing you are failing as there are many other businesses to step into your shoes and take your spot.

Using many different marketing techniques will quickly drain your bank account. Your first goal will be to determine how you can reach the most people for the least amount of money.

Here is one internet marketing technique that is cost efficient and a little more adventurous for you the “Business Owner.”

Become an Expert

What is your business? Look around at your competition. How do they present themselves to the general public? How can you present yourself differently?

Go buy a local newspaper, local magazine, listen to your local radio station; watch your local TV station. Are any of your competitors currently marketing themselves as an expert in your field? Too often we get bogged down ion our own business to keep in touch with what other businessess are doing in the marketplace.

I suggest you contact your local media and discuss the various ways that you could work with them. Local newspapers and magazines will have opportunities to write “Advice” articles. Local radio and TV stations may have talk shows that could host you weekly or monthly.

Contact the various local organisations that are looking for speakers for their monthly luncheons. Your Chamber of Commerce is an ideal place to start. Join your Chamber and get an article about you and your business published in their monthly magazine.

Study your customers and choose the type of media that would reach them. Talk to your current customers and ask them to give you their opinion about which area you should market in. Find out what they listen to and what they read, and what organizations they belong to.

What type of personality do you have?

Make sure that your personality matches your marketing strategy. Radio and TV would be a perfect match for you if you enjoy speaking in front of people, have an outgoing personality and a voice that carries well. Newspaper and magazine article writing will be perfect for you if you do not enjoy speaking in front of groups.

Becoming an expert in your area of business will not take years to achieve. Stay on top of the latest news about your business. Subscribe to trade publications to keep informed about new trends. The Internet offers many ways to stay informed on any topic.

The key to becoming an expert is to take the knowledge you have and the new information received and decide how your customers can benefit from this information. Not all news is beneficial to your customers.

Your goal is to cause your customers to look at you as the one to come to when they need what you are selling. You want them to refer their family and friends to you.

Don’t be shy. Go out there and market yourself as the expert that you are. The more exposure that you receive, the more exposure your business will receive.

Internet Network Marketing Business – How To Make Sure Your Prospects Sign Up

If you have a list and you continually ad-pound your members without giving value it’s a fair bet that sooner rather than later, those list members will eventually opt out.

Why is this? Simply because you’re not providing them with value. It’s one of the key ingredients missing from many running an internet network marketing business; they can attract the prospects but simply can’t get them past that stage.

Now there’s a simple solution for this. You train and educate your members from the moment they enter your lead funnel. Instead of sending them short, punchy sales oriented material why not send them information they can use and act on. Send them links to free resources or write a short report and let them have it.

Until you understand what your prospects really want then it’s going to be an uphill battle for you. Ann Sieg teaches this in The Renegade Network Marketer and confesses she struggled for a long time before giving her prospects what they wanted.

Why Someone Becomes Your Prospect

Maybe they saw you as someone who could lead them to the “promised land.” Here’s a cold hard fact…most people looking for a internet network marketing opportunity do so because they have a problem. It’s usually of a financial nature, either lack of current funds or they want to set up a nest egg for the future that they can live from comfortably and provide for their families.

Emotions come into play and if you can tap into these emotions then you are half way to getting them to join you at some stage down the line in your business. These people are looking for someone to show them how to get to a stage where they are realizing their goals.

Training Your Prospect

One way to build trust with them is to train them from the moment they enter your prospect funnel. Provide tips they can use, show them the right way to build an inter-network marketing business and show them free resources they can go to for now to educate themselves about building an online business.

Sure, you’re not making money right away from them but in the big picture, some of these people could eventually become the Diamonds in your business you’re craving. It’s like growing a garden, some nurturing and care is required in the initial stages and when it takes off well, it will literally fly.

It’s you people are interested in and not the company you’re with. If you earn someone’s trust in the first few weeks then you will be in a strong position to make a recommendation or two. But until you do this, don’t expect many people to hit the buy button when you immediately starting pounding them with sales pitch after sales pitch after they opt into your funnel.

More About 15 Tips To Manage Your Time

How many times have you said to yourself, “Where did the time go. I don’t feel like I accomplished anything, or at least not what I set out to do?.

A lot of times we may set out to do some specific tasks, whether it’s online business or just taking care of some needed chores around the house.

It’s particularly easy to get distracted and lose some time that should be devoted to working through task especially when you’re involved in an online business.

Today’s time is a time when we are drowning in data, facts, figures, junk mail and it seems if it an electronic item its got some kind of message it’s delivering to you. All of these, plus some, can tend to keep you from doing all that you should.

I’ve found that working in your own online business, is that there are a whole lot more possibilities for distractions than you could ever imagine. If you think about it, not only have you lost the time from the distractions but it generally takes another 5-10 minutes regaining your focus on what you were originally working on before the call.

It doesn’t seem like a lot of time but over the course of a day, like a cowboy getting on his horse, it can really mount up.

Take for instance when I was wriiting my article on reciprocal linking.

Secrets Of Reciprocal Linking I wanted to be sure to include some information on automated linking strategies.

What I thought would take less than an hour led to several hours that were filled with information that wasn’t quite relative to the contents of the article. I ultimately left the automation part out of the article. It wasn’t a total loss though. It taught me a lesson about better defining the type of information I was after. You can go here to check linking automation…

Or how about this….

You’re looking for ways to automate and improve your online business. So your’re checking the SE’s for information and products when you all of a sudden find yourself looking at trips to Europe! It’s winter and ohh how nice it would be to be sipping Margaritas on a sandy beach.

Boy, how did that happen?

Now don’t get me wrong, there is nothing bad about taking a “brief” break from work…as long as its a planned break that doesn’t interfere with you accomplishing what you set out to do. When it happens several times a day it can amount to a lot of wasted time that could have been better spent.

So how do you accomplish all of the tasks you set out to do without extending the amount of hours you’re working in a day? (Emergencies excepted of course).

Adding some structure to your day like limiting the number of hours your’re going to work can help. There are also a few quick and easy ways to tame the time bandits without having to sacrifice the quality of your work.

Here’s my 15 Tips to Take Charge of Your Time

1 – At the end of the day make a “To Do List”. Setting up your list of tasks at the end of the day will help you get an early focus on starting your day and moving in a positive direction. When you get the hang of this you’ll be able to make your lists up a week in advance.

2 – Break down larger tasks on your To Do List into smaller more “accomplishable” task that won’t be so overwhelming.

3 – Keep you long and short term goals in focus and develop your daily goals from them.

4 – Set a limit on how much time you’re going to work on a task. You know as well as I do that if you have an online business or website it’s easy to be distracted. It’s the nature of the beast and you have to set your limits and follow them.

5 – Schedule the harder or more complex task early in the day when you are fresh and your energy level is high.

6 – If you get tired and don’t seem to be making headway then switch to another task. Doing this can sometimes give you an insight into the task you were trying to accomplish before.

7 – Don’t add new tasks that are not essential to completing your goals. You have to realize that taking on another task may overload you and won’t help you accomplish anything that you set out to do.

8 – Recognize and eliminate tasks that don’t provide a payoff that will help you reach any of your short or long term goals.

9 – Remember that time is always of the essence. You can never manufacture anymore of it, so don’t waste it.

10 – If your life is also busy outside (ha-ha) of your online pursuits then opt for an organizer to keep track of other areas of your life.

11- On that subject above it would be a good practice to always keep your organizer and “To Do List” with you at all times.

12 – You may want to consider out sourcing or eliminating tasks that eat up a lot of your time but produce little or no measurable results in accomplishing your goals.

13 – Give yourself a pat on the back or a reward for a job well done when you’ve worked through and completed one or more tasks.

14 – Pause to reflect. One of the things that sets us apart from the other species is that we are able to think and learn. You can do that by simply reflecting on your days work. Look at what you accomplished, what you didn’t get one and work
on improving your strategy to accomplish more.

15 – And finally….Take A Break! You can always take frequent short breaks during the day but also take time to enjoy your family, friends and hobbies.

Gaining control of your time is a subjective process. You’re the one in control and, (hopefully by now anyway) who will ultimately decide how to best tame your time bandits.
